This project demonstrates how Heyde maximizes utility within a limited footprint. Client requested a functional expansion of a standard bedroom without altering the building’s external footprint.
Our solution was a custom engineered mezzanine level, effectively doubling the usable floor area. To ensure the new structure felt integrated rather than imposing, the design adopts a modern industrial aesthetic. We paired the structural black steel framework with warm wood cladding and glass partitions, balancing heavy duty engineering with visual warmth.
By utilizing the vertical volume, we created a dual zone environment: a dedicated sleeping quarter above and a spacious living/wardrobe area below. This project highlights Heyde's ability to execute complex structural additions inside finished homes with minimal disruption.
